Hey there!

I've reinstalled my old Gaming Laptop (Acer Predator G9-791) and I have a huge problem. After the fresh install on Windows 10 (from a brand-new Boot-stick # Microsoft # Windows Media Creation tool) everything worked fine but my GPU is somehow not working. I nearly tried everything but it just confuses me.

No matter what options I choose, the games do not report as using the dedicated graphics card.

(or windows in general)

I have:

* updated drivers
* used the NVidia control panel to enable high performance graphics for all applications
* set the power plan to performance
* made sure that the laptop was running on AC power

There is never any activity in the GPU activity tray, always showing that nothing is using it. There are even certain games that when run distinctly show that it is using the integrated graphics display adapter instead of the dedicated one.

Is there anyone else that is seeing this same behavior and/or discovered a way to enable and use the dedicated GPU?

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide!

I attached some files for you guys to look at :)

Have you tried going through some of these lists? (Link)

I'm almost certain that it is a driver problem; however, it may be hard to fix it. You could try to use Nvidia's Geforce experience to double check the drivers.

I'd really just recommend that you try drivers again.

Hello Imbellis.

Yes, I have tried this also and installed the latest driver but it’s still not working for me. When I disable the Intel HD graphic completely it’s not even using the GPU. I tried to disable intel HD graphics but it just switches to the Microsoft basic video adapter...
