Wifi extender
There are two types to think about. Power line and duplication extenders.
Power line extension is better and faster but requires the router and device to be on the same circuit in your electrical supply. As a rule of thumb, if your device is on a different floor, they will most likely be on different circuits. They work by transmitting a 2.4 or 5.8 GHz signal over the power line to a receiver and due to the high frequency they don't interfere with normal mains electricity. For one of these you will need a master and a slave unit (usually come in sets)

Duplication extenders work but are slower. Basically they have a receiver and a transmitter so act as a device on the network and when you make a request on your device, it will go through the extender and then to the router. For these you will need a single unit
