compatibillity issues?

i was looking for a new cpu(amd fx-4300 is what i have) and i came across the AMD FX-9590 which seems to be a good cpu and its AM3+ socket, which i thought meant i didnt need a new motherboard because my motherboard has an AM3+ socket.(asus M5A97 R2.0 currently) but when i looked on pcpartpicker it said theres a compatibillity issue. anyone know why?

because the FX 9590 is so power hungry, it will set the VRMs on fire at stock settings if not throttled down. For this reason, Asus never added support for it.

 

Besides, you should never consider the FX 9590 other than showing off or benchmarking. The performance just isnt worth it since you need a motherboard as powerful as the Asrock 990FX Extreme9 to power this chip properly, and the performance still wont beat things like a 4790k

none. Not when used Haswell parts dropped in price this much after all these years.
