Hi I'm building a editing pc for 1080p 60fps editing on adobe premier and after effects/illustrator 

 

The specs I have at the moment are 

 

I5 8400 CPU

1060 6gb or 1050ti or 1050 GPU

16gb 2400 MHz corsair vengeance RAM (2×8GB)

gigabyte B360N MOTHERBOARD 

Segate baracuda HDD

Crucial MX500 SSD

Corsair CX450 PSU

Thermaltake core V1 CASE

 

What GPU do I go for is the quistion

No neither would. The site you used is bs if it said an 8400 would bottleneck a 1060

hes saying the 1050 would bottleneck the CPU, not the other way around :)

In the case of editing, as long as the gpu can generate previews in real time it doesn't matter that the cpu is capable of even faster displays.

 

Nothing wrong with a GTX 1060, it would offer slightly better performance in some areas. But some of that budget would be better spent getting DDR4-2666 CL 14/15 memory, a larger ssd, and a motherboard with four memory slots.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
