bf4 download, steam, and origin question.

100kevin100

My internet is 50 mbps by xfinity An I bought bf4 hardcopy but I have to download it also, from origins (what ever happened to the old put in the disk and play method? haha) Anyways, how do I speed up the download speeds on steam im downloading L4D2 and it is installing it at 14kbps-300kbps. And bf4 on origins I have been downloading for 6 hours now and its only gone up to 32%. I have a legit copy of the actual game.

Ah......

You're talking about two things.

One is Steam and one is Origin.

What are you trying to say?

you are probably downloading just the Update for BF4 + China Rising DLC. I have physical copy myself and it never downloaded the whole game. Took a while to copy the data from the disc though...

I have a physical copy, I'm pretty sure it downloaded the game.

Are you downloading via wifi? Are there multiple people using the internet at the same time?

Yeah wifi, and yes family on Netflix, hulu, and youtube.

I was asking why they are being so slow at downloading. But, It just came to mind that multiple people are on so its slowing it down.

did you paste the key into origin or did you install from disc?

I put the disc (disc 1) in the disc tray clicked auto run and then it popped up origin and I had put in my key. now its installing BF4 (or files idk)

I have no clue what im downloading besides the part that I put in the key and now its downloading bf4 (or the dlc stuff)

Do I have to download via WiFi? Or is it possible to just put in the game and go? Or something simple like sims, where you put in the disc install files from disc, then play? Would that be possible at all?

I had a physical copy and I installed from the discs in there. Took about 1 hour at 15mbps read speeds. All you should need to download is the china rising (4.5GB) and at least one 1GB update.

I too have slow download speeds. :(

If anyone wants to donate £100,000 for a fibre cable to be laid to my house from 20 miles away, it would be much appreciated.

Hmm it seems to be going too slow then, Maybe its just the origin servers, im kinda new to the pc gaming but when I downloaded cod ghost off steam it was done in like 2 1/2 hours, and downloads from the internet are fast, I downloaded WinRAR, java, spin tires off of it really fast.
