Unless you're super competitive 144Hz will probably be more than good enough.  If you're making a super OP build then maybe go for 1440P 144Hz with G-Sync, I'd consider that the best you can get right now and is priced similarly to a 1080P 240Hz monitor.

What kind of shooter games? While I haven't tested a 240Hz screen, I do have a 144Hz monitor, and I have tried limiting it to 120, 85, 60 etc. Basically anything above 60Hz felt smooth, and while 144 felt smoother than 120, it may just have been a sort of mind trick affecting my judgement. I doubt 240Hz makes sense unless you only play compitetive shooters.

Main rig: i7 8086K // EVGA Z370 Micro // 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200Mhz CL14 // Sapphire Pulse RX 7800XT// a variety of noctua cooling // Corsair RM750x v2 //  Fractal Meshify C

Secondary rig: R5 3600 // MSI B450i Gaming Plus // 16GB Gskill FlareX 3200CL14 // MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X // Cooler Master V650 // Fractal Meshify C

Audio setup: Audient iD4 // Adam A7X // Sennheiser HD 650 // Sennheiser HD 25-II // Audio Technica M50x // Sennheiser Momentum 4

Very few people can tell the difference between 144hz and 240hz with complete accuracy.

144Hz better balance really. 240Hz for those that are very competitive and only care for top performance regardless of resolution and panel type.

Guessing you mean GPU. Depends on the game, but a 1070 or 1080 will do the trick.

But what if he did mean glue.... Hmmmm :S

We need the resolution, your budget, and (just to make sure it can run it) your PC build.

I really don’t want to spend more than 4-5 hundred on it

also it only needs to be 1080p

I recommend this one then.
