Hello

I am currently looking for a prebuilt pc to suit my needs of high end gaming and school work and need some help whether or not the pc i picked is good value for its cost it is a alienware aurora r7. Now i know many say alienware is overpriced and you only pay for the name but i really think they sell some good pcs and i think this one might be good in terms of what you get for your money.

It costs 1399.99

It has an intel 17 8700

Windows 10 64bit

460 watt power supply

Gtx 1070 with 8gb

Z370 mother board

16gb memory 2666mhz

128 ssd with 2 tb

Wifi wireless lan and bluetooth

Free keyboard and mouse

Thoughts?any other prebuilt pcs in mind  that seem better?

Please dont recommend building a pc i dont have the time to build one right now and i need this pc soon.

Everything seemed alright... until you get to the PSU. I think 460W is borderline for a build like that.

the i78700k is now less than 400 CAN

so...

it WAS a good deal at 1399.00

Pretty sure its in USD not Canadian dollars. But if it is in canadian dollars it'd be an even better deal so i'm not even sure what point you were trying to make.

Cheapest option chose for every part matching the specs. Still missing the wifi card, bluetooth card/dongle, windows 10, keyboard and mouse. Oh and a case. Even then its $90 more.

Then it's not that good a deal honestly. You could build better for $1400.

But that is without the fee for it being prebuilt and without Microsoft 10. I said already that dont rec to build one i dont have the time to have the parts delivered and set everything up atm it being a good deal for a prebuilt pc was my question.

And i answered your question in the first part of my post you quoted? It's not a good deal honestly lol.

You say you dont have time for the parts to be delivered, it'll take just as long for them to be delivered as it would for the PC to be delivered.

I know you said not to recommend building one but honestly, you can get far better for the same price, and with how little time it actually takes to build a PC (even a first time builder can do it in 30 minutes - 1 hour, i'm sure your life isnt THAT busy that you can't spare that) it's definitely worth it for the extra performance.

Hmm okay thanks for your input it does look like building one is the way to go but i would rather have one prebuilt atm maybe in the future when i decide to upgrade somethings will i build it myself. I guess prebuilt pcs will always cost more but i think i will stick to this pc.

what riley put together there for you is pretty awesome and its the same price as the alienware but you get a little more, including more wattage

you could even remove a few the components you don't want and save some money

you'll have to do more work all together but you'll learn a lot and it'll be fun

interestingly enough, youre being provided with the evidence you are seeking to make a better purchase but yet youre still going with the alienware
