While I'm still in the process of this, let me tell you a little story. This is a story that is neither complete, nor is it happy. This is a story about me burning up and banging my head against the wall.

If you go search for one of my threads, you will notice that I have a faulty O2 amp. Contacting the man on eBay, has led to this discussion(simplified for ease of reading).

I message him about the amp, asking for a shipping address I can return it to(admittedly not the smoothest transition).

He messages if there is a problem with it

I tell him about what I think is the problem

He responds that the O2 worked when he tried it

I send him a clip of the amp noise and static through soundcloud and the thread I mentioned earlier

He persists it works
i send him an unlisted youtube clip of the audio setup and show why it is disfunctional

He still persists it worked when he tested it

Pure BS.

So while I'm sitting here trying to figure out this mess, anybody up to tell me one of their stories dealing with bs?

its very possible that it worked perfectly fine when he tested it, and that it got damaged in shipping.

shit happens.

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

I mean he might not be an audio expert, so maybe he assumed it making sound meant it worked.  There are plenty of non-techies selling tech on eBay.

Got myself a story for the very least.

The power adapter also seems to be inadequate for the O2.

Personally at this point I would just open a claim with eBay directly, if he refuses to accept it back. They will almost certainly decide in your favour.

I'd also maybe just get a refund instead of a replacement, and buy your amp elsewhere. Maybe directly from Mayflower or one of the companies that build the O2 amp and will provide a warranty.

Or, if you're ballsy enough and have some spare time, get the O2 DIY kit, and build one yourself. You'll need basic tools and a soldering iron.
