PC not sleeping

Hi

 

Recently my PC has started not going to sleep (after its set time of 10 minutes). It will turn the screen off after 3 minutes (as I set it), but will not turn off the fans like it used to.

 

I can still put it to sleep manually though

Any ideas why.

There are tons of things that can break sleep mode.

Notably USB devices.

Do you have a HOTUS or something constantly plugged in?

Try unplugging USB devices and see if sleep mode starts working again.

Do you have a VR headset like an Oculus Rift because those disable sleep mode so it doesn't go to sleep while using it and can bug stuff out too like your sensors.

If it's the latter, you're going to have to just switch to shutting down your computer.

 

My Dad's computer wouldn't go to sleep because of his HOTAS though and just putting it on a USB hub with a switch gave him a convenient on/off button that he's happy with to solve the issue.

Tried this doesn't work

I restarted my computer, ran powercfg -requests. it returned with nothing but still doesn't go to sleep

Hmm, today I left it and it was sleeping as normal. I don't know what this was but It FIXED ITSELF
