So to clarify here, you would reload the OS everytime you turned the computer on, since that's how ram works? If you used an adapter to put ram in a pci slot so it would function like storage, it would also be limited to pci speeds, so there's really no way to do what you're thinking. If you could, that would be sick though.

one day, maybe. Until then nvme SSD is fine for me and overkill for the average user anyways

RAM disk? 

You should know that without electricity, all data on a ram is lost. 

 

I remember designing a simple 4 bit ram circuit using flip flops in one of college courses. It doesn’t retain any memory if electricity isn’t flowing.

i believe puppy linux boots into ram.. the last time i looked at it was a few years ago so i'm not sure, but i believe it can do it..
