New to the forum and am trying to make a pc for my brother.

Which one of these builds would be better for fortnite and gaming in general?

Also will a Amd 760K bottleneck a radeon 460?

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/3FPHGG

Pros:

Nice cpu

dual channel 3000 MHz ddr4

future proof

Cons:

%25 more expensive

Less ram due to apu

Apu

or

Note: the actual CPU is a AMD 760K it isn't in the filters

Pros:

Dedicated Gpu

8 Gb ram not taken up by the gpu

%20 cheaper

Cons:

No future in sight for cpu, mobo and ram

Cpu may bottleneck the 460

Thank you

Just now, Christophe Corazza said:

His first config is $ 515.93, while the second one tops at $ 410.48

So I guess the budget is around 400 - 500 USD.

Go for a Ryzen build if he wants brand new parts. If you want performance, build an i7 4770k build with a used GTX 980 or something, if you get lucky you can find 980s and 780Ti's for around $150.

Totally agree. 400 - 500 USD is quite low to have a decent gaming setup.

So you have two options:

The configuratoin of @kelvinhall05 seems very decent.

But if you would like to squeeze a little bit more performance out of your budget, go and look for used hardware on eBay.

Thank you for the replies, I think I'm going to lurk ebay for a while, to find an older i7 and a 970 or 980 if I'm lucky. Thank you @kelvinhall5 for the build except I'm going to use a 2x4 Gb configuration for ram. Budget is around $500 cad with a option to go over if it is worth the extra cost.

Good luck with your eBay search! :-)
