I am wondering if I could get 4k at a steady 60fps with my my Current Build. I am hoping so since that is why the upgraded happened in the first place.

If I can, I presume a drop in the graphic quality would be in order, down to medium for most big games. I have only tried playing AC origins at 4k on the highest settings and got crazy frame drops

Yeah, as long as you are willing to drop your quality settings this should be sufficent.

To get 4k 60fps @ max settings, it would require like 2x 1080ti's at least and that is assuming the game plays nice with SLI.

how much detail is actually lost going from high/ultra down to medium? is it all the stupid tiny stuff you don't notice anyway?

That highly depends on the games you play, I think; you're - almost definitely - going to get a higher frame rate in Overwatch than in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

it chance from game to game.

FOR ME, I don't mind too much, yeah ultra looks nicer but medium is normally alright. (not that i cant run ultra ;) )

not going to lie, it is a bit of a stretch to want 4k 60fps maxed out with any current hardware.

important figure in mensa

Only in super graphically intense games, this will push 4k at ultra settings in nearly every game. My Strix 980 TI pushes 4k ultra in a ton of modern titles. Just drop unnecessary settings like anti-aliasing (NOT needed at 4k).

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
