That can work with MIDI files?

I dabble in RNN systems (Recurent Neural Network, aka Machine Learning) and have been having my system, affectionately nicknamed "Skynet" create songs for me, based on lyrics it created, which is turn is based on a dataset of heavy/thrash/black/death metal.

Once it is done, I use a variety of other methods to create music to go with it, but since I'm working only with free tools, the songs...err..."songs" it creates have a very 8-bit sound to them, which doesn't really go with the tone of the lyrics. In any case, I was wondering if anyone worked with MIDI files, and could bump up the sounds it created using proper MIDI tools/instruments.

This is a link to the final sounds, but happy to e.mail/host some .MID tracks if anyone wishes to improve them

Since MIDI sounds are created in the device it is played on, the only way to get better MIDI sound is to upgrade YOUR MIDI device. Nobody else can give you better sounding MIDI.

MIDI is a list of instructions for a device to play: this instrument, this high, this long and with this intensity. No waveform is stored in a MIDI file.

Search something that is called VSTi (Virtual Studio Technology Instruments). Basically it is used to make MIDI tracks to sound close to the real deal. To use it you need DAW software as well to load the track and assign corresponding VSTis for each instrument.

The other option (more expensive) is to output the MIDI via the sound interface (if it has DIN-5 MIDI out) or USB to MIDI adapter to an external synth/keyboard for more realistic sounds.

Yes, and then this hobby starts costing real money, and it's not something I want to sink cash into, so I was hoping I'd find someone here who already had said tools that could improve the sounds that had already been created...
