SSD not working

Hi guys, I recently got an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 3.5". I've put it into my system and I can't find it in my computer or drive manager. When I go into the BIOS I can see my western digital HDD and there is something else called TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223B. Could this possibly be the SSD and if so how do I get my computer to recognise it. Thanks.

This is possibly one of the worst times to buy an OCZ ssd. As you may know, they have gone out of business. So if the drive is truly dead, and it wasn't just a silly mistake on your end, you can't redeem your warranty that might have come with it.

The TSSTcorp thing is your CD drive.

Change the SATA port the SSD is connected to. If that does not work, change the cable. Lastly, check to see whether you have disabled the SATA ports in the BIOS.

But Toshiba owns them now and will most likely keep that brand alive. Toshiba also has some new ssds out that seem pretty solid so I wouldn't be too worried.
