Ultrawide question

Looking at getting a 34" ultrawide, is the curve worth the extra cost?

From practical point of view, it depends. If you sit really close to the monitor it might be helpful with the viewing angle especially on non-IPS monitors (or even the IPS ones).

If you sit a bit further away it will not benefit you much but also will not impede the experience since it's barely visible (also depends on the curvature - there are 3800R models and 1900R).

From aesthetical point of view, it looks amazing.

well I ended up getting an Email from Newegg that had the LG 34CB88-P monitor for another $50 off the already massive sale price it was on bringing the cost after the mail in rebate down to $400 and so that was worth it over the flat 300 dollar 34" unit I was considering because it also bumped me up to 3440x1440 where the other one was 2560x1080. a $100 more is worth it for the res bump alone.

Which GPU do you have? I'd make use of Freesync if you're not already doing it. :)

1080ti, so no using freesync, this is more a productivity being able to have 2 windows open at the same time kind of thing then a gaming kinda thing.
