The first thing fans of the Blade will notice is the display. It's now larger but has seriously skinny side-bezels. As such, the whole footprint of the Blade 15 is just 10mm wider than the current 14-inch model.

For 2018 the display has been bumped up to 15.6-inches and it comes in three different variants. The entry-level Blade 15 will have a 1080p, non-touch, 60Hz display. The most expensive model will have a 4K 60Hz touch display. But for gamers, the sweet spot is right in the middle.

Razer has included a 1080p 144Hz display on the latest Blade and at first glance it's superb. You're getting 100% sRGB support, so it looks good, and thanks to that fast refresh rate you'll be gaming like you've never gamed before on a Blade.

Some thoughts on the new Blade

https://www.razer.com/ca-en/gaming-laptops/razer-blade

Pros:

  • Got rid of Killer (bless the lord)
  • Gave us back non-soldered RAM (did NOT see this coming, someone smacked somebody on the Blade team)
  • Vapor chamber full cover heatsink (this is nice)
  • Webcam on TOP (copy this XPS15)
  • Finally stopped using the cancer HDT heatsinks

Cons:

  • Oh fucking dear lord Razer's history of QC makes me terrified of their heatsink construction
  • Could end up like the Razer Blade Pro vapor chamber disaster
  • The fins look tiny compared to what they want to put in
  • 1070 Max Q seems like a bad idea without a full LM mod (even then still looks like a terrible idea)
  • It is going to be power throttled as FUCK on the 1070 one, I can feel it already. 200w power adapter tells me they went the Aorus X5 MD way of saying fuck you power, smaller brick is better.
