Mostly true but what u guys are saying is, its better to try to get my hands on the new 1180 before its sold out?

Or is their a better option im not seeing

I mean those cards aren't going to launch for another few months, and won't be easy to get for a couple months after that. You could, if you want to wait. Otherwise 1080's are pretty close to MSRP right now. I'd just get one of those.

Edit: For example, this 1080 is one of the best designs on the market and the price is pretty fair.

So i don't know how true this is but if it is, wouldn't it be great if we can pick up the used GPUs miners gonna sell?

Most likely they gonna try to sell their 1080,1080 Ti, Titan x etc.

And we can still get high end GPUs for a reasonable price or you guys this we should go with the new series of GPUs

Miners weren't really buying 1080, 1080ti or Titan X's. They weren't super efficient for mining because of their GDDR5X RAM iirc. They were mostly buying 1070, 1060, and everything from AMD.

You may be able to get some used 1080's, but they likely won't be flooding the market more than usual.

Main System: EVGA GTX 1080 SC, i7 8700, 16GB DDR4 Corsair LPX 3000mhz CL15, Asus Z370 Prime A, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R5, 2TB Seagate Barracuda, 500gb Samsung 850 Evo
Secondary System: EVGA GTX 780ti SC, i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz, 16gb DDR3 1600mhz, MSI Z77 G43, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R4, 3TB WD Caviar Blue, 250gb Samsung 850 Evo

they were buying 1080tis for it's amazing eqiuhash performance. it would get around 800 sols overclocked making like $10+ a day at a point. but for most of the time it was at $7 - $10 dollars throughout 2017. now its useless. 1080s performance in equihash was the same as a 1070 so no one really got 1080s but prices still went up i guess

Something to think about, where did all those miners GPUs went?

Personally i still think there's still a lot out there and only when this new line of GPUs launch we will know for sure

It also depends on availability of the 11 series. If all of those are sold out miners won't sell the GPUs they already own (which is what I suspect will happen)

Who do you think buy off most of the GPUs? Not being rude or anything just trying to help you understand the market

Miners. However miners weren't buying 1080's back in 2016 yet they were impossible to buy for like 3 months after launch. My point is that availability is usually limited for a few months after launch with or without miners. Therefore, you have a bunch of miners, most of which are using 1070 class hardware and lower, all trying to buy the few 1180's that will be available at launch competing with gamers. I think you're vastly overestimating how many used high end cards will be on the market when the new series launches.

Miners just wouldnt dump their old cards out before getting the new cards

As for whether they are good deals.... Comes to the price. Those selling for as much as the original cost is definitely a no go. I wouldnt pay for more than half the MSRP for these decommissioned cards.

Yeah the 1080 is a great 1440p card. I run ultra in every game I've tried with 60fps (Mankind Divided, ROTR, Far Cry 5, Shadow of War, bunch of others). I don't plan on upgrading my GPU for like 4 years is current timelines of new cards every 2 years keeps up.

Where can i get a good deal on 1080 new, and if you can answer this aswell

If a 1080 is out of my budget, how long can i run 1080p games with a 1060 on full presets before i need to upgrade?

0 days. It can't run all games on ultra even today. Games like Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Ghost Recon Wildlands,  and Rise of the Tomb Raider really struggle to get a smooth 60fps on ultra settings because they're so inefficient. Play on high. I promise you won't notice the difference in actual gameplay and you'll literally double your framerates in most cases. You can expect another 18 months of high settings out of a 1060 if you don't tweak your settings beyond selecting the high preset.
