IRql not less or equal blue screen w10

Hello guys, i need your help, so i encountered this blue screen with the stop code irql not less or equal. Tried a system restore and the restore wasn’t successful as in it didnt successfuly restore to anything. And yesterday, my pc wouldnt turn on, it would keep getting to that bluescreen, so i formatted the pc, now that i restarted the pc to install the updates, i got the bsod again. Please help me

This error is normally caused by a hardware fault. either to a RAM module or to a PCI-e slot.

How long do I have to run a memtest for the RAM? I ran it once for like an hour, but that was quite a while ago, like a few months, and I didn't exactly know what I was reading there.. How can I see if its the PCI-E slot? I don't have a spare gpu

Um you run the memtest for at least 1 hour or 2 passes and if the BSOD is happening as fast as your state it will fail if a RAM chip or port is bad. as for the pci-e well idk what to tell you. test the card in another pc for a couple hours?

This could even be a failing mobo or CPU but the RAM and video are easier and cheaper.

As fast.. not really, I mean, it's usually like 90% of the times I restart or start my pc....

That is fast. so do memtest 2 passes a couple of times to try to get a error. restart between them. The memtest should be done b4 os loads.

I don't really understand memtest, so can you break it down? What passes? How do I know if a pass is done? After a pass is done, and I force restart my PC by holding down the power button, wouldn't that cancel the current memtest and start over?

I usually clean it every 3-4 months...

blue is good RED is very bad

Have you tried simply reseating the ram? Give the dimm slots a blow when the rams removed too.

BTW you need to make a bootable USB and run it off of the USB If you can't get windows or bios option to work

it is a IRQ error BSOD we are trying to find out if it is mobo cpu pci-e or RAM and RAM is the first test.

I'll buy a new can of compressed air, cuz appreantly the one I got is out, and clean the pc tonight, I'll post the results. In the meanwhile, I'll run the memtest for a couple of hours, I hope to god the RAM and everything else is good.

can you put the video card in another working pc? that will be the second step if memtest passes everything

I don't have a spare PC, I might be able to find one, but we'll see after the memtest.

It has been known to fix this error before by just reseating. it's actually fixed it for me with my old system.

yes if the system has recently been moved or cleaned but it sounded like either of these happened recently to cause it to shake lose but u never know

Ran a memtest, for like 4 hours, 2 passes in total. No errors found fortunatley. I haven't had any problems when restarting/starting pc atm. I hope I don't
