I just got new gtx 770 for 80 bucks. So instead of going with ryzen apu, I want to build a used pc part builds.

I saw some people using xeon CPU for gaming. Can I do the same? If so, which xeon cpu?

This pc will be used to play some esports games and as a home theater pc. So low budget is good for me

It's probably fake.

Where did you buy it from?

I got it from my friend's dad. I tested it out before buying. He works for some IT company and they had some graphics card and pcs in storage. I was able to get this one. It  even had its receipt taped onto its plastic sealing.

In which case, good on you. You got a deal.

You can use a Xeon for gaming, sure. I do (although this is an older system I have as a spare/backup/testbed)

And as far as which one, well how much do you wanna spend for all the goodness?

Yes quite easily. Here's an article that I based my setup on https://redacted.tv/2017/01/04/how-to-build-a-100-gaming-pc-guide-benchmarks/

Some of the Xeons like the W3680 and W3690 have unlocked multipliers allowing you to squeeze more performance out of them (overclocking using ThrottleStop - the only way of doing so if you go down the used Dell workstation route for example), and they will trade blows with much more modern stuff. Those two CPUs are getting on for 8-9 years old now!

Just make certain the motherboard supports the Xeon, and what kind of RAM you will need (mine demanded Registered ECC RAM)
