I’m trying to make a Gaming Battlestation that can play games at 1440p high for the next 3 to 4 years. I want to also do some basic content creation and coding on it. I have around $1500 USD to spend. My PCPartpicker list is linked below.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P2RbKB

As you can see I have built it around the Ryzen 5 2600X and GTX 1070ti. Unfortunately, it is 250 dollars over budget.  If anyone could help cut it down 250 dollars, that would be great. Also other suggestions(such as better monitors) would be greatly appreciated.

Get a cheaper motherboard? that motherboard can go sli so if you are not planning on adding an extra gpu find one that is cheaper without sli support. however this wont save too much money.

also on that link it only says it costs 1550 not 1750?

You can get windows for free from microsoft's website, and buy a sub key on eBay for around $10. Activate it with the sub key and your good to go. I also suggest using ethernet instead of WiFi. Faster and cheaper. Get rid of the WiFi adapter if it isn't crucial to have.

Yes, I saw that too. The link has a 1060 6GB, and the photo has a 1070ti. OP probably got things mixed up :/

I would cut it down to a 1070 non-TI if I was you, since at 1440p it can still handle it ok.

If not that, try cutting your SSD mem in half, and go with 240GB if you can do with it :) You've got the terabyte...

EDIT: yeah that RAM is way over the top, cut back on the RGB

My profile picure is real. That's what I look like in real life. I'm actually a blue and white African Wild Dog.

Thank you for your quick response. I have changed the link to be the list with the 1070ti. The only motherboards that support the 2000 series Ryzen CPUs without bios update are the X470 range, and those motherboards are all $130 or more. So I don't know if I should change the Motherboard.

Thank you. I will get rid of the PCI-E wifi card and will use Ethernet. Also, do you know if buying a subkey from eBay or another site is actually legitimate because I don't want this computer to fail or have anything go wrong in day to day use?

I have changed the link and the picture again to reflect the changes I made. I cut the SSD in half, took out the wifi card, and Changed the RAM. I don't think I should buy an activation key, but if anyone has done this successfully before, I would greatly appreciate you sharing how to. I still need to save 140 USD so I am wondering if I should cut down to a regular 1070 and save $50.

Why do you suggest switching to the 8700? Also, I want at least 23-inch monitors. Thank you for the suggestion though.

If you aren't gonna overclock, the 8700 is better than the 2600x for gaming and maybe even productivity thanks to its higher boost clocks. If you are gonna overclock, the story may change. I just swapped out those monitors to save a total of $40, but if they're too small... swap in the old ones.
