What do you plan to have on the hard drive?

If you like to store lots of music, movies, and games, then that's going to be a low amount of space. 2 - 4 tb would be good for all of that stuff.

If you just have a handful of games, some programs, and a modest amount of music, you'll possibly be OK with 1 tb.

I'm just saying is it good in 2018 with Hundreds of Terabytes of data packed into one solid state drive, is it that high-end?

1TB ssd is expensive

I'd say that having a 1TB is fine, maybe 2TB but anymore and youd have to think about how valuable that data is, so 10TB hdd, I dunno if thats wise.

Not really sure where you're getting that from. Your average consumer SSD usually isn't any bigger than 1TB just because they are so damn expensive, and the biggest SSD in the world is only 100TB, which isn't even on the market yet. I can't even imagine what the price tag on that thing is going to be.

1tb is more than enough for you judging you have no idea what is going on right now. if you need more storage just get 60 bucks and buy a 2tb hdd.

1TB is enough if you don't download lots of stuff

and sure a 1TB HDD will last a lot more than a 1TB SSD if you count read-write cycles, eventual reformats and defragmentations
