Hey I'm switching over to PC gaming at a medium price point. I have had a tough time finding the right gpu. My price for the gpu would be around 200 USD. I have been looking at the 760 and the 270x. Which one is better or is there a better option

Thanks

The best you can get is a 270 but do check the 7870XT edition if it's on sale anywhere.

Uhhhh he was comparing 760 and 270x. The 760 is faster.

That said the 270 (because there is no reason to go for a 270x) is generally quite a bit cheaper

I'm aware of what he said, I said 270 because it's the best option. if you're going to get a 760, get a 680.

Yeah. I know. I agree. Also the 760 and the 680 actually arent that horribly difference in terms of performance. The 680 wins, but not by a massive amount.

You can also grab a 680 cheaper on a good day, and possibly overclock it more. Also aftermarket cooling plates for watercooling should be cheaper for it because it's been around longer? just a guess on that.

What 760 did you find for around $200? Lowest I can find is $235.

Anyways, I would grab this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127769&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

One of my friends has a connection and he could get one for cheap, but it would still be around 210.

R9 270 is your best bet, it's a sweet-spot performer at $180, it also consumes very little power & exhausts very little heat, so you can put it in a small enclosure like a bitfenix prodigy without having to worry about heat.

The 680 is closer to the 770 than the 760 in performance.

But yeah, the 760 is more powerful than the 270x.
