CPU Over temperature error

I was playing a game and a little boy accidentaly turned my pc off. when i turned it on it shouwed me the error CPU Over Temprature and when i clicked F1 it sent me to Bios. then when i quitted bios the same thing happened again. the third time now my pc  finaly turned on. its not overclocked or anything any ideas?

Since I've had it happen, have you checked to make sure the heatsink hasn't fallen off and the fan(s) is running?

how do i check the heatsink? btw the fans in the bios were running

open the case and try to gently wiggle it a bit, it should not move if it moves and is loose you should take it off and reapply paste and re mount the cooler
