Temp Help!

Hi,

 

So I recently purchased an older PC to start getting back into the swing after playing consoles for a long time and the PC in question seems to idle fine at around 30-35c but as soon as I play any sort of game (Fortnite has been the main one) it shoots straight up to 75c+ and the PC shuts down.

 

Any idea what could cause this as I still have a warranty from a local shop but it's an hour drive so if I can sort I will...

 

AMD FX-8350

Asus M5A97 R2

1060 3GB

Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB

Cooler Master 120 Liquid cooling

 

Any help would be great as I am pretty much a novice at this.

What thermal paste are you using under that cooler?

If you don't have a thermal compound under the cooler, I'd recommend Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or Hydronaut. They're really good.

Would personally replace predone paste with TG Kryonaut or Hydronaut anyway.
