So i am running a 1700 ryzen CPU with a 1070 gpu, great PC i can easily do my daily home task. But i just got offered to work full time from my house and it would make sense for me to consider the a different platform. I'm looking at i9 and treadripper, but since treadripper 2 is coming out soon am i wrong to believe that Intel will have a new set of cpus?

I am in a position where i can hold and use my current system until August/september. But going with something like a i9 or treadripper with a 11 series gpu will be beneficial plus since it would be work related i can use it on my tax deduction. This would be my first very high end system and i am looking to take the right decisions.

Thank you for your responses.

Alex.

Actually if you can wait until then the best option for you will be the releasing Z390 chipset motherboard by Intel that will come with the i7 8790K 8c/16t Coffee Lake CPU which will be the best 8 cores performing CPU available in the market and most likely enough to whatever workloads you'll have.

Also yes do wait for nVidia new generation.

We are expecting treadripper 2 to get a 300hz bump plus everything offered with ryzen 2 series but any idea on the Intel side of things.

It's "known" that Z390 and X399 chipsets along with cpu refreshes will be released this year. Rumor is there may be a Z490 chipset as well. Unfortunately other than the widely reported rumors of 8 core LGA1151 (Z390) cpu and higher clocks, there is little else.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
