This account has been terminated due to a violation of YouTube's policy prohibiting impersonation.

 

So, I'm guessing these types of things happen a lot. I subbed to impersonation account that after a friend sent me the link to the "new channel." I wonder how much things like these hurt a new channels growth.

You can have multiple channels with the same name ever since youtube started allowing name changes like 5 years ago.

Have you ever been on a big youtuber's comment section just after the video launched? It is filled with fake accounts with the excact same name and pictures, and they spam sketchy links. But these get removed after a while.
