What if I replace the 16gb of ram with 8 GB, and replace the i5 8400 with an i5 8600k for the faster clock speed.

it's only a couple fps increase in performance, and you don't get to overclock it. keep to the 16gb kit.

Nope. And the 8600K is meant to be overclocked, so going with a board that can't do that, you're throwing money away. Might as well get the 8500 or 8600 non-K. 8400 is better value, though.

What about the ASUS DUAL for 315 instead? Should be a bit quieter. would be worth 10 bucks to me.
