i have an windows 7 ultimate oem so its stuck with my mobo (so it means reinstalling os again)  . the os files and some files like (excel,word,etc) is in drive C: , and my games files is in drive D:

 

im planning to upgrade my mobo cpu and ram , so my question will i still play my games or open my personal files ? in drive D: ? when i plug back my hdd ?

 

btw my D: drive is separate HDD not partitioned in my C: drive

As the game files are on a different drive installing windows on c won't effect that drive.

You should go with Win 10 if you haven't decided already. But yes as above, just move your files over to a backup storage and reinstall C drive.

all my game files are on D: drive which is different HDD like physical HDD not partition one

Then you will be ok reinstalling C with new OS.

Files are good. Games and software you need to install again (most of them). Or with games add new library folder to Origin, Battle.net and Steam.

yeah maybe ill reinstall steam but my games are still there right ? cause it takes forever to download them all
