First timer water cooling package temps

I know I probably confused everyone by the title but please bear with me. I recently put a custom water loop inside my I7 6700k and I have noticed that my package temps are over 10 degrees higher than my core temps and jumping randomly. I turned my fan ups and after a few minutes temps normalized with package temps only a few degrees higher than normal....... I am not sure if I messed something up or if I am just going crazy...... I do have the chip overclocked to 4.5 ghz which I know it shouldn't effect anything to much just trying to understand whats going on. please help this noob.......
