The 1070, I know from a friend, plays really well at 1080p while streaming and playing Overwatch.

What gams do you want to play?

If you have the budget take the 1080, the headroom will help, also the 2700x offers better viewer side fps than the 8700k especially if the quality is turned up

But the i7 8700K with Intel Quick Sync using its iGPU gives to the player the best smoother experience and highest fps, it is a give and take situation ;)

GPU wise this matters less when streaming I think the GTX 1070 Ti right now is the best value for your money:

Get a 1050ti with current pricing.

Probably want the 8 core for streaming.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yeah you can select what GPU to use for what program in Settings.

This way you can use your iGPU for Chrome or Firefox and your fancy dedicated GPU for actual gaming

Yup, I never said it didn't ;)

However when the quality is increased the 8700k lost over 60% of its outgoing frames vs around 7% of those from the 2700X. it doesn't perform 20% better at 1080P never mind 53% to make that up (in my mind anyway) - I'm not disputing in anyway, that as a gaming chip, its the best

Get the best GPU you can afford and then buy a CPU that's an overall good match but a Ryzen series(for h.264 encoding) will yield better results over intel per dollar with streaming due to higher core/thread counts. If you want, you can use intel's quick-sync, or nvidia's Nvec, as built in hardware encoders and stream that way for less CPU load but less quality per KBp/s upload.
