ram Does "Intel Optimised" RAM work on an AMD CPU?

Will "Intel Optimised" RAM such as most G Skill RAM (example below) work on AMD Motherboards and CPUs?

Yeah, it would have no compatibility issues with AMD, but it might not get up to the rated frequency.

Would I be able to get up to the rated frequency if I simply overclock it to a higher frequency?

Problem is that as much as high speed RAM improves Ryzen performance, Ryzen is really finicky with RAM. I would get Samsung B-die(basically all of 3200mhz CAS14) if you want to make sure that you get high memory speed. Intel optimized really doesn't mean anything, just look at the frequency and timing.

Why do you recommend that specific RAM? I'm looking for something with the Ryzen 5 2600X and Gigabyte x470 Ultra Gaming.

The single sided b-die is known to most consistently achieve 3200mhz+ without a problem from the Ryzens. Lower latency and high speed RAM also significantly increase Ryzen performance. 

 

I personally have the same memory type(3200mhz 16-18-18-38 as yours(but in Trident Z RGB), and had to get it exchanged once to make it run at rated speeds.

 

EDIT: I do think that with improved memory compatibility of the Ryzen 2000 series, you would probably be able to get it running at rated speeds without a problem.
