Anyone have experience with shipping a PC?

I haven't had much luck with local listing sites/apps so i want to consider shipping it anywhere in the lower 48.

Any hiccups in the process? How expensive is it? Should i be worried about damage in transit, especially the graphics card?

I'm looking to sell an i5-8400/AIO + GTX 1070 FE in a TG case.

I'm a little worried about the case in particular, because the first case i got had busted feet due to shipping/packaging.

remove the GPU, place it in an anti-static bag, and pack that inside the case with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Foam-18x18-In-PK36/dp/B00C73O6FS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525707024&sr=8-1&keywords=instant+foam+packing

if you have a tower cooler, you may want to either use the instant EPS packing as well or remove it.

Hmm

Well I still have the original packaging for the video card, but Id' prefer to keep it all in one box, rather than paying for shipping on 2 separate boxes.

I'll consider it though.

Also the cooler is a 120mm AIO so i think i'll be OK.

Thanks for the reply.

then put the GPU in the OE packaging, and put it in the cardbard box you ship the computer in. it will be a larger box, but at least everything will be together.

Do you have a buyer for it yet? If not, it may be worth investigating parting it out instead of trying to sell as a whole. It's a bit more work but I've always made the same or even a little more off of parting out previous builds instead of trying to sell as a complete system. While you'll end up shipping a lot more items, it's a lot less likely for damage since they can be packed up more securely, especially if you kept the original packaging.

If you don't have a particularly valuable case, I'd just stash it and avoid the shipping hassle with it. I tend to be a little paranoid with things like that, though.

I built the whole system new with the intent of resale. So i think i wont part it out.
