So im planning to upgrade my 750ti to a gtx 1060, and am looking on the used market... would people recommend getting a used card on ebay?

And is it worth the small price difference £10-30 to get a bigger card?

There are the "mini" options with 1 fan (evga 1 fan, zotac mini, etc.)

or the full cards that are slightly more expensive... (gigabyte windforce, zotac amp, etc...)

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Gershy13

A used GTX 780 Ti or GTX 970 is a better option than a used GTX 1060 because they're cheaper.

A 1060 looks to be more powerful than a 780ti, and a 970 is very similar priced to the 1060 3gb...

I also wanted the newer generation for future compatibility and also the newer ports on the cards... (Hdmi 2.0, DP 1.4)

The 6GB versio is faster than the 3GB one. I would go with the cheapest non-blower style 6GB card you can find.

EVGA has transferable warranty iirc.

The GTX 1060 isn't way more powerful than the 780 Ti, and the GTX 970 performs similarly to both of them.

Just don't buy a graphics card that has been used for mining.

im planning to get the 6gb, which is more powerful than the 970, and it has more vram.

so you are saying its not worth getting a card with a supposedly beefier cooler for slightly more? 1 fan v 2 fan?

I've been using an MSI GTX 1060 6gb Gaming-X and so far have not had a problem in a single game (PUBG, Fortnite, FFXV, Destany 2, etc). I see them all the time on Ebay, but they're usually over $300. Any 1060 6gb will be fine if you can find one for the price range you're looking to stay in. I personally would also be looking for the full size card unless you don't have the room in your case, ie SFX, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Prior to the MSI I was using an EVGA 1060 SC mini with 1 fan. The temps were constantly at 80c or sometimes more until it finally died. The MSI rarely goes over 70c unless it's super hot in the house. Also you will have a little more headroom for overclocking if the temps are in check. Good luck on your search and don't let anyone tell you that the 1060 isn't a good card. For a budget build right now I think it's the best option out there (price allowing)

Thanks... Yeah I was thinking I might come into thermal issues with a 1 fan card... And I would like to overclock...

So you think any 2 fan card would do?
