When I launch a game, it crashes. I'll use fortnite for my example: Loading screen, fine. Save world of Battle royal (battle royal). *loading.* and then RIGHT when i get into the lobby my gpu crashes instantly, whether it be my monitor goes pink, black, grey, half green half dark green, sort of splitting in half, or i just get a message "Unreal something or other has stopped working." In overwatch i get the message "your rendering device has been lost. I know its the GPU because it happens with only my 1060 and when i use intergrated graphics it works perfectly (laggy, obviously but not crashes.) It also happens on both monitors (i primarily use a 120hz external monitor) When i use the laptop monitor i just get the message "gpu has stopped functioning". And when i use a software to detect temps and gpu and cpu usage, my gpu is like 55C when it crashes and cpu is like 45, and the usage on both is like 50%. Memory usage also is like 45%. Is it like my gpu isnt getting enough vram or something (its 6gb rated)

Would you happen to be on the April update for windows 10?

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ Tier Breakdown (My understanding)--1 Godly, 2 Great, 3 Good, 4 Average, 5 Meh, 6 Bad, 7 Awful

I may. I think it has been happening since around march 27th or 28th

Hmm well then if its been happening for that long then my idea as too the cause is wrong (the newest version of windows 10 is breaking a lot of graphics software but hasn't been out that long)

As for what is actually casing this issue its hard to say, if you have any overclocks on the GPU i would recommend turning it down to stock, you could try a benchmarking software to see if its only games rather than just anything stressful but I don't know what to recommend though as most of the ones I use have direct X which is what I'm trying to eliminate as a possible cause, if you have a game that uses Vulkan like Doom that would work. Since you already fiddled with the drivers its probably pointless to fiddle with them more so that only leaves fiddling with the OS and bios so besides reinstalling windows I'm having trouble thinking of potential software fixes. Bios wise you could try reinstalling the GPU bios as it might be corrupted but keep in mind that can lead to more issues if done incorrectly.

Other possible issues besides software issues are hardware related, but that would be the worse case scenario and would make fixing it a task probably out of your depth, likely requiring an RMA
