Will this Motherboard work with a i3-540

The CPU is for the LGA 1156 socket and it's a 5th gen, the motherboard also supports LGA1156 but its description says its 6th/7th gen. Will they be compatible and will DDR3 memory work?

The motherboard you listed is socket 1151 which is not compatible with socket 1156. You also cannot use DDR3 memory in a DDR4 board.

Also, the I3-540 is a first generation i-series chip.
