Why did you do so? The 558 are a better value.

Doesnt matter. Ive read that the 598's have less bass so they focus more on mids and highs which is what I would like especially because I will have a more real experience when it comes to video games. Maybe not by far but it will help.

The 558s have more bass because of the more restrictive foam inside the earcup which you can remove easily.

I just ordered those, if I perform that mod, what will it make better and would it make anything worse?

From what I gathered, it makes the bass less overwhelming while mids and highs clearer.

Doesn't need one.

558/598 are the same headphone measure the same sound the same.

Though 30 bux for an interesting looking product is justifiable I do suppose.

"Interesting look" lol. I think it looks like arse. (That's rude, exotic is the word I suppose.)

Yup. But they do look out of place in a traditional black setup. But it does not matter much anyway.

I agree but it wont bother me with all the bling around anyway.

if the bass in the 558's are overwhelming (and the PC360's supposedly sound the same) then I guess the bass in my M50s is.. extremely overwhelming? atleast that's what it seems like judging by your words. I find the PC360's (again, same as 558's) to.. almost lack bass.

EDIT: my typing is superior, failed so hard.

Everything is subjective, some people like a lot of bass some do not. I own the M50s and 598 and  I believe they serve different purposes. If you like a lot of bass, good for you, just go on your way.
