Can i use this without Battery?

Hey guys

I want to make a SmartHome Control Panel with android widgets. (Ill use IFTTT and Hue Pro).

I wonder if i can use the Acer Iconia one 7 (or genarally tablets) without the battery plugged in, so that it uses the Power from the wall.

The thing is that i have my current raspberry pi tablet (which is slow and unresponsive) next to by bed, and since it would be constantly used i dont want the battery to suddenly expand or explode while i am sleeping in  the middle of easily burnable stuff.

Thank you for the info!

Is the battery even removable? I've never run across a tablet with a user-replaceable battery...

It may or may not work. The problem is the charging circuitry on most portable devices aren't necessarily sufficient to run the device.

You could always try it out. Use a higher amp USB charger and see if it works.

Ok, i will try it! Do you maybe know a certain brand or tablet that it will work?

I was thinking of maybe a Galaxy Tab A or the Acer Iconia One 7, but if you know it out of your head that would be great :D

Sorry... I don't know of any that can work on a USB cord only. I can tell you from experience I have had that none of the following will work on just a wall charger...

Motorola Xoom (even with it's ridiculous separate wall charger adapter)

Galaxy tab s

Kindle fire

So you could cross those off your list. Hopefully another person can chime in.
