so i was thiking about buying a new cpu, and i will be really happy if you guys could help me out with two cpu's im thiking to buy one of them is the ryzen 5 1600 and the secoend one is the i7-4790 what will give me a better performance in gaming gpu (msi gtx 1070)

4790 is old. You already have ddr3 or motherboard for it?

The i7 4790 would probably game slightly better, but I would still go with the Ryzen 5 1600, if you overclock it, it will overtake the 4790 in gaming, not to mention the extra 2 cores / 4 threads will make it more useful in multi-threaded applications and 'future proofing' your PC

not to mention 4 generations of ram and mobo compatibility. you can then get the last AM4 cpu to upgrade to while not upgrading the Ram. i would pick up a new Mobo at that point though. at least that is what i am doing.

 

i7 is running ddr3 you will have to end u getting new ram with the next system regardless. not to mention the higher thread usage that is expected from newer games.

4790 if you already have a board and or DDR3 RAM for it...ryzen if you're buying everything.
