So, while I was signing up for floatplane, I noticed that there was no password confirmation...

Some services trust that users can enter the password correctly in one field, so no confirmation field.

If you fuck up, that's on you. Websites shouldn't have to hold your hand to make sure you don't fuck up. Also it's just annoying to the rest of us who have to retype the same damn thing again.

You give email. Congratulations, you can now retrieve password or reset if you messed up. If you happen to enter wrong email, tough luck.

If you enter the wrong email, you should then create a new account with the right email?

 

Also, adding one of those privacy button would be cool, so you can mouse over/click on it to reveal your password. Best of both worlds.

Username will be reserved to first try though. Considering how many people in here ask their usernames to be changed, apparently thats more major issue than typoing pw.
