Overclocking cpu causes base speed to increase and turbo to decrease

Recently the app discord has been slowing my turbo from 3.25ghz to 3.15ghz causing me issues. I tried to overclock my cpu to a base speed of 3.15ghz but the turbo went to 3.10ghz and my pc started to under perform. Without discord http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/8486942

with discord http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/8486967 both of those are without overclocking. For some reason my turbo is being slowed down causing issues when playing games.

What's your thermals like? 

 

Also your 1080 seems to be the issue rather than your cpu, did you look at the gpu scores?

My thermals are fine, I’ve tested and they are very good

My gpu score is low because I have gysnc so it’s capped at 144, without gysnc is perfectly fine

only if you enabled vsync in the Nvidia panel

I don’t have vync enabled, not sure why it caps it. While playing games it is not capped.
