hey, i have a system that gets random bsods with bccode 160, now there is no information about this bugcheck code... does any1 know what it is related to

the system also gets random bootmgt is corrupt at bootup, but then again after rebooting it boots just fine ( which is weird because if its corrupt it doesnt boot at all )

the hardware is memtest89 stable for 24hour+ , prime95 stable 24hour+ so it must be somwhere windows

this is actually the first bccode i couldnt analyze ( and ive solved all bccodes so far x_x ) :( i have no clue what the heck a atomiccheck is

im startin to wonder if the bsod is actually caused by a unstable licensing service or somthing, but i have no friggen clue

WIN32K_ATOMIC_CHECK_FAILURE

The WIN32K_ATOMIC_CHECK_FAILURE bug check has a value of 0x00000160. This indicates that a Win32k function has violated an ATOMICCHECK.

If i had to guess this almost sounds like a CPU error from what I read of what it is on wiki

but the cpu goes through prime just fine and memtest, which is weird.. if the cpu would be unstable it shouldnt pass those, i guess i can rma that cpu but idk o_o

i think the company would just prime95 it / stress test it and see it passing and complain that the chip is just fine or smt

If you read the article is specifically states that it is almost impossible to debug do to the nature of what is happening. It has something to do with the cache and doesn't happen much or in a pattern. it just happens

so u think i should just rma that thing eventhough it passes on prime and memtest   , explain that its a cache instability? im concerned they wont buy that stuff lol :c

also if you tell them that the error is due to fail atomic operations in the cpu cache than I doubt they will argue.
