my evga ssc acx 2.0 gtx 970 is constantly getting hot at around 80 degrees when its around 50%-100 %cpu usage and gets noisy trying to lower it (tho it only goes up to 45% fan speed) with the default fan profile.

my problem is that one of the 2 fans on the card is malfunctioning, it would start up then die then start up again repeatedly. how do i fix this?

I already dismantled the card and saw nothing wrong with the coils in the fans and the magnet is still intact i blew on it just to make sure dust wasnt the problem. now it starts up fine in low rpms (around 12% fan speed) but when it goes higher it starts up then dies then start up again... how can i fix this problematic fan?

EDIT: my case is a local brand in my place its the Rakk Marug with acrylic side panel. its a matx case but i have 2 fans as intakes and 2 fans as exhausts. Just wanted to add if this info was needed

To further analyse this problem I would disassemble the faulty fan and test it outside the gpu (hooking it up to a psu). Could be a faulty pwm circuit or motor.

If you find any grammar or spelling errors please fill out entry permit A38, thanks.

No, you would have to take the GPU heatsink off and apart to remove the fan.

i already did disassemble it but I can't test the fan alone because both the fans are connected by the same wire (they join into one for the fan header on the card). would buying an aftermarket gpu cooler be worth it? if so, what are my options?

You can find ACX 2.0 coolers on Ebay for ~50 USD.
