Hi there, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section, but here goes...

I have an MSI 1080 Seahawk EK gpu and noticed that there seems to be quite a few cracks on it. I used Primochill Vue when I built my rig, I've been told that its supposedly not a long term coolant as it was first described. It has built up some gunk here and there and I was going to clean it, but since there are a few cracks on it, I was thinking about replacing it. Is there an specific gpu block that I should use, or just any old block that will fit a 1080, will I have to buy a backplate as well?

Thank you in advance.

If you do the fittings up tight the acrylic can crack. It can be caused my temp change as well.

If you bought it from a retailer recently they might cover it provided you haven't opened it. Otherwise ekwb do make universal blocks it will list what is supported. You can get non Plexi to decrease your change of cracking. But water cooling parts should only be finger tight,  just need to compress the oring to make it water tight :)

Vue is only a fluid it can't really cause the Plexi to crack. Usually the particles will remove the nickel plating off the block is all.. Vue has other incompatible issues with loops. It seems a bit new and not a well thought out formula.

Mayhems have a good range of dye and pastels.

On the ek site I can see two water blocks for that model

https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/step1_complist

fill in on the right side the video card brand

It doesn’t have pricing but you could contact ek support. They could send you a replacement. They have part numbers for it.

Other option see if the 1070 block is the same as the 1080. This ones for parts and the block looks ok.
