Okay, so I was cleaning out my pc as per usual, so I unplugged all the cords into my motherboard, took out the motherboard, ram, gpu, heat sink, and the cpu. After reassembling my computer I have had problems. After troubleshooting, I turn on my computer and all the lights and fans turn on, but no display on the monitor, the caps lock doesn’t glow when I click it. I tried different ram, and a different gpu but the problem still persists, help please. I feel like it’s my CPU because I will leave it on to test temperature and the heat sink isn’t warm at all.

My specs:

MSI R9 390 gpu

8 gb DDR3 ram

A88XI AC V2 Motherboard

Amd - A10 7850k

120 gb Samsung ssd

@Colbuh did you take the CPU and heatsink off the motherboard at all?

Check all your power connections, and SATA data cable

  • Motherboard 24-pin
  • CPU 8-pin (or 4-pin)
  • PCI-E power cables
  • SATA power cable
  • SATA data cable

Also, are you connecting your monitor to the back of your R9-390, and NOT to the back of the motherboard?

OH! By the way, your R9-390 is not mounted properly -- I can see it's crooked, so may not even be in the PCI-Express X16 correctly.

I just don’t think my computer is booting because the caps lock key is not lighting up when I click it. and the leds on my mouse and keyboard normally light up when I turn it on too. I think it’s a boot up problem. I have cleaned my ram stick so it’s not my ram, because I have tried it with other ram, and not the gpu because it’s a boot problem. Lack of thermal paste? Fried motherboard? Psu problem? Missing power connectors to the motherboard? Unusable CPU? Please if anyone is experienced in this area please get back to me. I need to see if it’s a problem I can fix instead of taking it to a repair shop
