3Ghz RAM?

If you've got an LN2 pot to go with it and the board and cpu have been cherry-picked then... you wouldn't be asking this question.

Check with the motherboard manufacturer, but probably not. MSI only JUST announced a new gaming series of motherboards with 3000 Mhz RAM support. I doubt your board has that support.

Thanks for the info not that i was going to buy any and try because i dont need 3Ghz ram but I just wanted to know.

Mostly only Z77 motherboards support it if I'm not mistaken. Even my mini-ITX Asus P8Z77-I support that RAM.

I might work, but it's geared towards water coolers. It will be VERY hot on air.

From what I remember when I was shopping for my z77 build the ivy bridge chips don't see any tangible benefit from ram speeds over 1866. so unless you're doing ridiculous benchmarking, then I really wouldn't bother spending that kind of money on memory.

Actually ddr3 ram runs pretty cool... heatspreaders probably aren't even needed on lower frequency ram. My 1866mhz ram barely gets warm

And I think lots of boards actually support 3000mhz.. I think mine does
