Hi everyone,

I want to use an external hard drive as network storage. The modem that the ISP provided has two USB 3.0 ports on it. But my question is does anyone think that the ISP can see my data on the drive? Or if it's safe to do this. Thanks.

All I can say is the ISP generally will know what devices are connected. Also, weather or not the USB port supports hard drives is also in the air, some ISPs might turn off features or never implement them in the first place.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

@Donut417 I have the drive connected and it is working on windows but I have not put anything on it yet. I don't care if they see it's connected, I just don't want them to see what's on the drive.

Well its their equipment. Hard to say what they have access to. I know they can remote in and change settings and such. I dont think any one could truly know what they have access to besides a person working for the ISP. Its not like they are going to come out and say, yeah, we can access all the shared files on your network.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
