Replace memory for Ryzen?

Go to solution Solved by AresKrieger,

You likely will not see any benefit in terms of performance gains, plus current ram prices are absurd so just stick with the 3000 kit

So I've ordered a 2600 to replace my tired old 2500k. And I've got this unopened pack of corsair vengeance lpx 3000 cl15 sticks that I bought when they were on sale a year ago. Should I sell them and buy even faster memory?

How much can I realistically expect to gain in performance?

Wait... you bought an i7 2600 or a Ryzen 2600? Please tell me Ryzen, those 3000Mhz ram must be DDR4.

Assuming you bought Ryzen, its speedy enough RAM to live with, some people reported here some issues with LPX 3000MZ ram (people cant enable XMP), so id recommend you to try them and see where they get you.

Cheers!
