Hi, I just somehow need help with a little dillema.

I currently have a;

Ryzen 5 1600

Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 3 ( not really the best board but it was the only available board  in my country at that time )

Gigabyte Windforce Xtreme Gaming 1060 3GB VERSION

Cooler Master Master liquid lite 120 AIO

2x8 Team Group 2400mhz Ram ( non rgb )

Thermaltake Smart SE 530W

I'm new to overclocking so i just a few tips.

current settings are

CPU is clocked at 3.8ghz with 1.356V

RAM is clocked at 2666 with 1.35V

did not touch anything with the timings as I have no knowledge as to what timings j should use.

I attempted to go beyond 3.8 on my cpu but it freezes a few minutes into aida64

so my questions are;

Is that the maximum that it could handle? Or do i need to raise the voltage to get higher clockspeeds? Im a bit afraid with raising the voltage tho i might fry the whole thing.

leaving my ram at 2666 at 1.35V is it safe?

And lastly aside from aida64 what other tools or applications can I use to verify stability?

Thank you!

voltage depends on the temperature. AMD itself recommends 1.42V maximum for overclocking on air/water, but I'd say that's only reasonable if you can keep the temps below 75C.

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

You may need to up the voltage a bit to combat the freezing.

Temps are at 80C right now though it recorded 89C for a few minutes but got stable at 80C but thats just an hour and 15 minutes through aida64.

then that's the voltage (and clock speed) you're stuck with unless you upgrade the cooling. Increasing voltage raises temperature significantly.
