Hi, I just upgraded my desktop and decided to wipe my SSD and HDD and re install Windows on my SSD instead of the hard drive. When I do this one of two things will happen, it will go through the process as normal until the part where it restarts, at that time it will just restart the installation from the start again. If I remove the USB with Windows 10 it says I have nothing to boot from. The other times it says I can't install Windows to both my HDD or SSD because of some formatting issue.

Anyone know a fix?

Thanks,

Maple

Ok Unplug your hard-drive and and then plug in the usb. Go into bios by smashing delete. Then in boot option select the usb.

Yeah getting to the Windows install isn't the problem. It's the actual installation.

Remake the usb on another computer.

Already tried that. I'm using the authentic Windows 10 usb now still no luck.

Try another usb. I once used one and it just wouldn't work. I had to use another one and it installed.

The message it's giving me says that I need to check for a hardware incompatibily or insure that my sata controller is on. I'm not sure what to do at that point

Try clearing the cmos. Go into bios make sure it gives you a message cmos cleared. Then boot off of the usb again.

Are you in the boot menu in the bios. You need to select the uefi option for the drive.
