PC quit posting, please help me fix it.

trainergames

Ok i had picked up a used gaming pc from a pawn shop for $50 ,that would post but not boot into windows,I got past that with some help from here.

I have been leaving it running for a couple day installing games to test on it,other than that I did run Heaven Benchmark to get some temps(cpu never went over 68c),and I did also a little bit of an overclock on the GPU.

Well this morning i got up and the fans were spinning but no video,I have tried clearing the cmos,I tried different things with the 2 sticks of ram.

I even tried changing out the video card for a known working card, and still nothing.

Now i am guessing it is either the PSU.CPU or Mobo.

What does it sound like to you guys? What should I check first?

PSU is the easiest to try, and depending on the CPU socket, it's wavering between testing the Mobo or the CPU first, if it's AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, LGA 775, LGA 1156, or LGA 1155, then it's easier to buy a cheap 10$ cpu off of ebay then to try and replace the motherboard.

Ok the CPU socket is AM3+,i do have a phenom II 925 i could try, i do also have an AM3+ board with one the 2 pcie x16 slots bad,and i have an antec earthwatts 500w psu in another system.

So i should be able to test all,i am just not sure which to do first.

Power supply first, then CPU, then the motherboard.
